IMMEDIATE OPENING: Support Marketing Consultant                                                      Apply Now

The Shirman Group has an immediate opening for a Support Marketing position. This is a contract position with an Information Governance Software Client. The candidate will define and execute marketing efforts for the client’s Customer Support group.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop tools and communications to educate and enable the company’s sales organization in selling support and maintenance services.
  • Define and execute highly creative and innovative approaches to raise awareness and interest among sales people and end-customers
  • Work in close collaboration with the Support Service Line management and sales teams to define marketing programs and tactics that support revenue objectives.

Responsibilities: 

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in marketing or sales support roles in the enterprise technology industry.
    Experience with Services Marketing. Work directly on marketing or sales of Customer Support offerings is highly preferred, but not required.
  • Extremely creative problem-solver willing to take risks and try out-of-the box approaches. (Must be able to provide examples of innovative marketing tactics.)
  • Experience with creating sales and marketing tools for direct B2B sales organizations, or experience in direct enterprise technology sales.
  • Demonstrated experience in development of marketing and sales collateral and presentations (must be able to show examples)
  • Excellent writing skills: ability to make highly technical content relevant to business audiences, and to write concisely and clearly without use of marketing jargon.

Duration and time commitment:

  • This position is half-time on average, though exact hours are likely to vary above and below 20 hours per week during the course of each fiscal quarter.
  • Initial contract is for 6 months, with possible extension for additional quarters.

Location:
On average, two days per week will be at client offices in Pleasanton, Ca., Some work can be done offsite.
 


Solutions Marketing Consultant                                                                                               Apply Now

We have multiple opportunities for experienced solutions marketers.

You:

●  See the big picture of company business objectives and understand how enterprise software and IT infrastructure products support those objectives

●  Understand the market dynamics and key technologies and vendors in one or more of the following segments: Cloud computing, enterprise infrastructure and/or applications, managed services, networking equipment, mobile communications.

●  Can translate technical concepts and product-level messages into customer-relevant business messages

●  Are a superb writer and story-teller who is able to write concisely, clearly, and cogently without use of marketing jargon.

●  Have 7 or more years of experience in the enterprise and/or SMB technology markets

●  Demonstrate in-depth understanding of enterprise technology sectors such as cloud computing, virtualization, IT infrastructure, and applications.

Marketing Internships:                                                                                                                    Apply Now

The Shiriman Group offers 3 to 6-month marketing internships for young professionals and advanced university and graduate students.

The ideal intern is an independent self-starter who wants to learn the basics of marketing from the ground up. Interns help with key marketing initiatives in support of specific client engagements and for the firm itself.  The intern reports directly to the Managing Director. 

We believe in helping people get a head start in their career and our internship provides the right individuals with an amazing opportunity to see what marketing is really all about, and deliver real, measurable results for the client.  The intern will have access to and training on development of value propositions and marketing messages, market research, email marketing content and tools, campaign design and outreach techniques.

The perfect candidate has most of the following qualifications and/or skills:

●  Pursuing or just completed a degree in Marketing, Business, or a Communications-related field. 

●  Solid written and verbal communication skills

●  Engaging and professional interpersonal skills

●  Excellent computer skills - must have a strong understanding of internet research, MS-Word, Excel, and Power Point.

●  Highly organized and detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to organize and track detailed data.

●  Able to work independently and meet specific deadlines.

Other details:

Duration: Positions range in length from 3 to 6 months.  Paid part-time position may be available upon internship completion.

Hours:  Time commitment is typically flexible and will vary with specific project, campaign activity, client requirements, and intern study schedule.  Most internships require 12 to 20 hours per week.

Location:  Intern will attend in-person meetings on the mid-Peninsula. Other work can be done from home. 

Other: Interns need to own their own computer and have a reliable internet connection.
